City Plaza: Nicosia's Shopping Mall

City Plaza is a reasonably large shopping mall on Makarios Avenue in the South side of Nicosia.

It has clothing, photographic, confectionary, gift and numerous other shops inside, and it is pleasantly air conditioned, so it can be nice to pop inside to cool down as you are walking down Makarios Avenue.

Anyone familiar with City Plaza and Makarios Avenue will realise it is quite an achievement to get a photo with no cars in the picture! This road is the most likely part to hit traffic jams in the whole of Cyprus!

The Kiosks at Eleftheria Square: A bit of back home

There are a couple of Kiosks (Peripteron in Greek) in Eleftheria Square. They sell pretty up to date newspapers and magazines from around the world allowing you to catch up with what is going on back home.

They also sell sweets and drinks and postcards etc. Nothing special, but a good place to buy something as you stroll through Nicosia. They are open crazy hours, and are very busy with the locals too!
