The Lookout in Bracknell - Bracknell

The Lookout in Bracknell

The LookOut

Now this really is worth visiting.

If you like the outdoors and like walking, mountain bike riding, orienteering or geocaching (see www.geocaching.com), then the LookOut is outstanding. Especially for Mountain Biking as it has some specially built areas. If England gets the Olympics in 2012, the the LookOut will be staging the Mountain Bike event - it really is that good.

The LookOut also features some nature type events for kids, a good playground a nd a tower that can be climbed up. Recently (summer 2004) a climbing adventure assault course has been built there too (see http://www.goape.cc/Sites.asp?M=1&E=1&Site=1)

The Water Clock in Bracknell - Bracknell

The Water Clock in Bracknell

The Water Clock

This is in Bracknell Town Centre too, and is Bracknell Town Centre's other 'Must See' site.

When it is working it is a water clock that tells the time by spraying out jets of water - soaking anyone who happens to be walking over it at the time.

It is not uncommon to see the local lads in the summer time waiting for a wet T-shirt moment...

Address: Middle of the Twon Centre

Bracknell's spherical object - Bracknell

Bracknell's spherical object

The spinning ball

If there is such a thing as a 'Must See' in Bracknell Town Centre, this would probably have to be it.

I don't think anyone really knows exactly what it is supposed to be, other than a large marble ball that is supported by water pressure and can be spun around by passers by. Not sure what the point of it actually is. The Bracknell residents weren't quite sure what it was either when they got their itemised tax bill and saw how much they had paid to hyave it built.

Address: Out the front of McDonalds and the Bull P.H.
