Crowthorne Transportation Tips by easyoar

Your best bet for getting to Crowthorne is by car (preferably not in a 3 wheel invalid carriage!)

As Crowthorne is a small town/village, they try and encourage people to visit as much as they can. To my knowledge, there aren't actually any pay carparks at all, they are all FREE!

A few places where you park on the street, there are time limits, but I am not aware that they are very rigorously enforced (but don't quote me on that!).

It is normally possible to park very close to where you want to visit, and as the railway station is a reasonable distance from some parts of the town, it is better to drive.

Train is a good bet by Public Transport

Crowthorne is a little bit out of the way. It does have a Railway Station. This station is permanently unmanned (so you get the idea that it is not a mainline station!)

Most trains don't stop, so make sure you consult a timetable before trying to catch a train there. Wokingham is one stop away in the Reading direction. From Wokingham, London Waterloo is direction. Continue to Reading, and London Paddington can be one stop away. Alternatively the other direction serves Farnborough, Guildford, Tonbridge and Gatwick Airport.

The trains are slow, stopping everywhere, but at least they take you there!

One thing to be aware of, Crowthorne Station is actually over a mile away from Crowthorne High Street.
