This page is rather self indulgent, but perhaps it will teach you a thing or two about rowing.
All of these pictures were taken on the final day of the Rowing World Cup held on Saturday May 28th 2005. There as even a charity race featuring Britains best known and loved rower, Sir Steven Redgrave (now retired).
The Lake itself belongs to Eton College, one of England's most elite schools. It is extremely close to Windsor.
- Pros:Lots of high quality crews
- Cons:A bland sterile environment
- In a nutshell:You need to like rowing really

good explanation for sculing versus rowing. LOL, seems you were paying close attention to the the Swedish team but I can believe they stopped, so that you can take a pic of them ;p
I can't believe I read all this page. I now know more than I ever wanted to about rowing.
Hi Andy, So many dangers with rowing...sculling...water stuff...who knew? All great advice but surely there must be room for pie ;-) Great fun page...Tom
Finally now I know the diff. between rowing & sculling! Philadelphia has its BoatHouse Row for University scullers/rowers. PA also has a Dorney Amusement Park. Where's your picture?
I found your information of rowing quite enlightening since I knew nothing about it. Learned some new terms such as "skulling" and appreciate any chance to learn something new. Great photos of the athletes.
Great sport tips :) The pics are very nice too!
Well at least now I know a bit more about rowing/sculling and the Karlsson Twins. Thanks Andy. This weekend, on Lake St. Clair are the "Dragonboat Races" which is a lot of fun to see & also raises money for Cancer Research.
A very interesting primer on the sport of rowing. And now I know what my problem is - too many pies and not enough exercise.
Great stuff on rowing -but how about a pic or two of Dorney's other attractions? Dorney Court is the loveliest old house and the church has a great family monument inside. Hacking across the common and down by the Thames. leyle
Nice tips on rowing.
