"Goring (and Streatley) on Thames" Goring by easyoar

Goring Travel Guide: 13 reviews and 18 photos

Goring is a rather posh place with a very well known resident (an internationally famous pop-star). Read on to find out who!

Goring sits on one side of the Thames and Streatley on the other, although most people probably wouldn't realise there was any change unless they saw the signs either side of the bridge.

I'm curious what brought you to Goring? Excellent bit about the bellringers and their doing a bit of muffling up in the belfry! I wonder is there a mufflers club or union where they can go and talk about their techniques of being a good muffler? Tim

that moral fits right there with "never take a sleeping tablet and a laxative at the same time." or "Never try to take meat from the mouth of a lion. Let the wife do it."

After visiting Goring a few years ago, I lost my film! Now I can look at your photo and smile. My partner grew up there - and many other towns as well. He has such great memories of that area!

Goring lock is very pleasant. I've almost completed the Thames Path (I've done the Barrier to about two days walk from the source) and I just love the Thames. I just wish I'd had my camera with me! fergy.
