In Suffolk, almost every town/village seems to have a sign comparable to this one. Quite often they are carved from wood and painted.
This sign looks pretty unusual. It looks like there is a windmill here and a house that is doing an impression of a space shuttle. I wonder what that is all about... Read on to find out!
- Pros:Extremely unusual
- Cons:Probably gets boring pretty quickly
- In a nutshell:Worth a day trip

Very unusual architecture indeed, thanks!
Toadily wonderful page - well done you
Totally fantastic presentation of the totally weird place. Yes, architects like to play sometimes ;)
Thank you for this virtual visit of the Wierdest Village in England! Haha, it should too win the title of the most dog hating Village in England.
A village straight from the fairy tales we are read to as children. The house on the long leg reminds me of Baba Jaga's (our wicked witch). I like the ingenuity of the architects and understand the dog phobia, looking at Warsaw streets. Lovely page!
So u didn't get 'shell shocked' by the shell in Aldeburgh!.Charging £2700 for a weeks rent is naughty and one of the reasons so many Brits go abroad. You cant find a decent B&B for almost under 40 quid these days.My folks used to live in Beccles.Tim
I think the scallop sculpture is amazing!!! Love it! (btw - no not pre Da Vinci Code pyramid - that was a view of the BACK garden ;-))
I would have to agree with the pollsters - the architecture here is a bit too disjointed for my liking! Lovely blossoms though - I'm a bit fond of Gorse myself!
The Weirdest Village in England? Wow, that's some honor! I think by the look of the town that they might be proud of it as well :-)
Such strange & interesting architecture around Thorpeness but no place for my dog!!
