Virginia Water - Lake and Beauty Spot

by easyoar - last update: May 22, 2005

Azaleas in Flower at Virginia Water
Virginia Water is a beauty spot that has a lake, woods, a totem pole from Canada. It has been used in Harry Potter films and is a nice place to have a picnic or a stroll.

In May the gardens come alive with a raft of colours from all of the Azaleas and Rhododendrons that grow there.

I wonder if the Ruddy Ducks have a go at the swans! Now that would be an ugly duckling........

'No swimming'? It was difficult for me to understand why you are not supposed to swim in the lake. I found a good place to get into water and enjoyed swimming. But I would be happy if someone advised me on places to swim in this area. pine2903@yahoo.co.uk

Nice page Andy. I've never been but it might be worth it just to check out that huge Totem pole! I read recently that it was considered bad luck by American Indians to have the biggest pole in the village!!
