A trip to this park is a must during your time in Barcelona. This park was designed by Antoni Gaudi, whose art noveau style made hime one of the most well known artists in Spain. Just a note...if you have problems walking, this may not be the place to go, as you must walk up a rather steep hill to get to the park. There are some small souvenir shops along the way to the park that have lots of Gaudi style trinkets for you to take home. I would buy any Gaudi memorabilia at these shops while you're here as this area seemed to have the biggest selection.

Another one of Gaudi's famous works, this is a great place to visit. La Pedrera was designed for Pere Mila and his wife. At the same time, Gaudi built two blocks of apartments like this one. This building is unique as the structure rests on pillars instead of using weight-bearing walls...an innovative and unique aspect of its time. Entrance into this building includes viewing one of the apartments, viewing the attic which houses Gaudi historical facts and also the rooftop, which is definitely a sight to see. The view from the top itself is worth the trip.

Although the Segrada Familia is still unfinished, it is one of the most impressive works of art that I have ever seen. Be sure to admire the intricate details on the fascade. It is very advantageous to rent the audio guide so that you can understand everything that you're looking at. It doesn't take very long to go through this site, so try to plan this as a part of your trip.

The best part about this museum is the way in which Picasso's works are displayed. Everything is shown in chronological order of his life. It's amazing to see a pencil drawing that Picasso made at 8 years old and then to see how his works progressed throughout the different stages of his life. You only need a couple of hours to go through this museum, although you can get through much quicker if you're in a hurry. Tickets are 5 euros per person

Poble Espanyol was created to give vistiors an overview of all of the different people of Spain. This Spanish village contains representations of all of the cultures, lifestyles and craftmanship of Spain. It is a charming town and the craft stores are unique and diverse. Guided tours are offered. It would be better to book the tour in advance because you will get a one hour tour rather than a 1/2 hour tour for the same price if you book at the door. While you're there, take a walk across the street from the entrance and enjoy the beautiful view that overlooks Barcelona.

A trip to this museum is worth the time even if you only stand atop the steps and enjoy the beautiful view of Barcelona The MNAC is also easily accessible by metro or the Bus Turistic. This museum houses the largest collection of Catalan art in Spain, thus giving you an impressive view of how the Catalan artwork has influenced today's art. You have to walk down Las Ramblas at least once during your trip to Barcelona. This is a very interesting street. Not only are there tons of places to shop and eat, but there are ALWAYS tons of people...interesting people of all sorts. Enjoy your stroll...stop and watch the artwork being created with the spraypaints...watch the strange actors in their unusual costumes...do some window shopping...enjoy!
