Well I went to Cairo with a group of tourists that had come with me from Sharm el Sheikh. You can not possibly go to Egypt and leave without seeing this amazing city. I mean really, imagine a city surrounded by pyramids that were built ages ago! It had a special aura, especially when we got close to the pyramids. The view was breathtaking... I just stood there - mesmerized by what was in front of me. After all that I had read about these gigantic pyramids, after all that I had seen on TV... here I was! Standing face to face with them :) Definitely was a dream come true!
Cairo seemed like a poor city to me. To be honest, I didn't spend that much time walking around to do some exploring but you can not blame me! I was followed by men everywhere I went and they didn't look very friendly either ;-) It probably had something to do with the way I was dressed although I did try to look as conservative as possible...
We took a cruise trip on the Nile river and I really enjoyed it. But other than that and the pyramids, all that I remember is the Sheraton Heliopolis hotel, which was very nice by the way...
- Pros:Rich history, etc.
- Cons:Men following foreign women
- In a nutshell:Gotta see the Pyramids!!!
