The Premier Place to Stay - Ballymote
Coach House Hotel: The Premier Place to Stay

Although there are enough places to choose from in and around Ballymote, the Coach House Hotel is possibly the most versatile and and best located accomodation. It sits only about 1/2 block off Main Street on a street that joins Main Street about halfway its length.

The Coach House has a pub, the O'Hara bar, that when I last visited had looked redone. It was modern, had courteous staff, and offered live music on certain nights.

Don't let the first looks of their restaurant fool you. Although the restaurant seems a little bland and small, it's actually a fairly excellent a la carte restaurant. The placesettings are nice and the staff is as friendly as their counterparts that work in the other areas of the hotel. (They even let us change the CD in the CD player when we weren't in the Kenny G mood) The chef is highly skilled and it was obvious he had plenty of culinary study.

The Best B & B Option - Ballymote
Mill House: The Best B & B Option

Any time I've ever been to Ballymote I have stayed with family or at the Coach House. But now having stayed here this is probably going to be my first option when visiting in the future. My brother and his wife also stayed there on their honeymoon and came back raving about the place. They said that in their 10 day tour of Ireland and staying in guesthomes every night, the Mill House was easily the best B & B they have ever used.

The Mill House is certified by all major Irish Tourism Boards and has been commended with awards and the positive testimonies of its past guests.
