"Lindisfarne" Lindisfarne by SallyM

Lindisfarne is accessible from the mainland via a causeway. You need to check the times of the tides carefully.

When you get there: visit the Priory, the Castle and have a crab sandwich!

Ever the optimist

Although July, it was pretty cold and damp the day we visited. This did not stop the ever-optimistic ice-cream seller.

I think he may have sold crab sandwiches as a sideline.

I loved touring Lindisfarne, it's a great place. But I missed the crab sandwich :-(

Unfortunately we never made it to Lindisfarne when we were up this way. I was in a Lutyens garden here in the SE at the weekend! (Those crab sandwiches sound fab! btw!)
