These days the big attraction in Northumberland is Alnwick Castle, the home of the Percy family since the fourteenth century, but now more widely known as the location for the Harry Potter films.

But there are many other, very different castles to visit, including Bamburgh, Warkworth and Lindisfarne.

Another popular thing to do is to take a trip to the Farne islands to see the seabirds.
