Name of Shop: VROLIJK = GAY
Maybe not a coincidence though the name of bookstore VROLIJK means GAY, and this bookstore happens to be the best for gays and lesbians. The shop opened in 1984 and became an unique phenomenon in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Europe and at least to the world. Very easy to reach next to the Royal Palace at Dam Square.
What To Buy: VROLIJKs assortment is indeed unique, including all kind of books from lifestyle to papers, from calendars to postcards, from matches to gay items ...
What To Pay: Some Euros up to expensive, great photo books ...

Name of Shop: BEEHIVE - BIJENKORF
The Bijenkorf is Hollands most popular shopping mall and the one Bijenkorf in Amsterdam, is the best-stocked department store I ever visited. Located right in the centre on about 10 minutes walk from Central Station the building always is background to the National Monument "Dodenherdenking" at 4 May.
For shopping you can give your wallet a hit ...
What To Buy: Design is truly Bijenkorf, so for fashion you may take a deep breath. Special for make-up artists there is MAC, with absolutely great make-up products, and see the art-gallery on 5th floor.
