Beverwijk was not that well-known to tourists,
still an interesting city
and to many Dutch the best place to buy really cheap stuff.
Beverwijk used to be an agricultural village
with a very nice little beach area, named Wijk Aan Zee.
Its history goes back to the 9th century
and became more important up to the 11th century.
Today the most important is the
ZWARTE MARKT - BLACK MARKET
The very first of this kind in Europe!
Ofcourse you have to bargain here,
yep, bit of funny with all of the Dutch fixed prices!
So ... the Bazaar & Black Market became
the largest covered market place in Europe ...
That is very hot for
a former flower & vegetable auction place!
So more and more tourists got drawn to Bever-wijk
still a village (wijk),
though which grew into that mega tourist attraction city ...
So according to this the Beverwijk VT Pages will be in black!
