GATEWAY TO EVERYWHERE

"

When you say "Rotterdam"
written as "R'dam" too ...

I think of the "City of River Rotte"
I think of my childhood in Rotterdam South
I think of Feyenoord Football Club
I think of my high school years
I think of the first cinema evening
I think of going out sneaking away from home
I think of the Lijnbaan' shops

I think of a lot, and especially in visual mind
the E U R O M A S T - Space Tower

Rotterdam got built in the river Rotte,
around the 13th century.
It is now located along the river of Maas.
Where the well-known Maastunnel is.
Rotterdam is world port number one!
So ... truly the
Gateway To Europe,
and from here to everywhere!
Although a different city compared to others.

thanks for visit

HEART OF ROTTERDAM

I grew up in the South ( !!! ) of Rotterdam. Why it is so special see my Going South - Going Mystic VT Entrance Page ...

My teenager time I spent in the heart of Rotterdam. It was exciting, roaring, marvellous when the Rockers and the Artistic Arties went for a fight like in West Side Story. It was followed by the Hippie period, an image of sweet times we will never forget. A lot of interesting parties we enjoyed with the Soul Music, and the Gay Rock of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. Clockwork Orange happened right in the centre of Rotterdam ...

This poster billboard caught my eye and at once it took me back into the old times of Rotterdam ... so I always feel like coming home when entering Rotterdam, thank you pearl of harbor!

Hofplein at Rotterdam used to be a hot trendy area, and long ago the end of the train railway in Rotterdam. To me the way to Crooswijk.

For now only the fountains do remember of a special place of an once well-known roundabout ...

Here you always had to cross when going for driving-test, a spooky moment with all the traffic.

There has been some very popular dancing clubs around, all disappeared.

Only when spectacular events life's coming back on this spot ... Carnival, Dance Party, Rotterdam Marathon, Queensday, Parade ...
