Rotterdam got built in the river Rotte, around the 13th century. It is now located along the river of Maas. Where the well-known Maastunnel is. Rotterdam is world port number one! So ... truly the Gateway To Europe, and from here to everywhere! Although a different city compared to others.

My teenager time I spent in the heart of Rotterdam. It was exciting, roaring, marvellous when the Rockers and the Artistic Arties went for a fight like in West Side Story. It was followed by the Hippie period, an image of sweet times we will never forget. A lot of interesting parties we enjoyed with the Soul Music, and the Gay Rock of David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. Clockwork Orange happened right in the centre of Rotterdam ...
