It's said Alanya got visited by its first tourists in same time Deauville, France, got well-known in the roaring 20's. Not so true knowing the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra already visited this region and we choose Alanya, tourist city of Turkey, to spend a just 10 days decamp at the end of October. Well,... that was wrong; bad time at the right place ... with bad weather!
The high season is from May till October. More than one million tourists had their holiday in Alanya in 2003, which gave the town a lot of money! So it was tourism that effected Alanya and put on the World-map. It is Alanya, too, that has developed so much rapidly, compared to many other Turkish, same size towns, in order to become popular for tourists. Sometimes discrepantly to some locals ... we heard. |

hi ,Try Mahmutlar on your next visit as it gets less rain than Alanya as it is sheltered by the Tauras mountains . The village Beach has recently been upgraded and the new prominade is beautiful. | SLLiew Sat Aug 25, 2007 06:40 UTC
