Jepara Wood At Blitar

The Pendopo pillars of the Makam Bung Karno are covered with the famous Jepara wood, hand made by village carpenters. Woodcarving in Jepara started in the 15th century. It was originally considered an art form and became world-wide famous.

When interested visit Bung Karnos graveyard (his local name), and you could visit his ancestral home on Jl. Sultan Agung. For some, Blitar's attractions may well start and stop at the traditional Javanese pavillion housing Bung Karnos remains.

Lustrous Kings And Legendary Queens

It was Mpu Triguna who wrote down the Kresnayana Kakawin which is about the ancient Kresna and the legends about during Majapahit Kingdom. It can be found on the relief arts of the Panataran Hindu Temple at Blitar, although it is not that clear.

The Hindu Majapahit Empire got famous for its lustrous kings and legendary queens. The names of the males got written down, those ones of the females survivied in myths and legends ... and some sculptures! When Islam entered Java, a lot of temples fell into ruins, while Hindu influences continued at Bali. Where you can find similar temples (Pura).

See here a beautiful, "topless" royal figure, remained out of the famous Majapahit Empire at the Panataran Temples, and for sure an important Queen!
