Kaiteriteri - golden beaches - Kaiteriteri

Kaiteriteri is a little village on the Tasman Bay and close to the borders of the famous Abel Tasman National Park.

It is situated about 60 km north of Nelson. You will find some accommodation in B&B's and a camping, restaurants, a shop and a petrol station.

Kaiteriteri has some lovely golden beaches and is an ideal starting point for all your activities on the bay and in the park.

Either you go for a hike, a boat trip, sea-kayaking, swimming with seals or sailing, you name it and "K" has it.

In the meantime I know what Kaiteriteri means (thank you Waltraud): "Kai = food .....teri teri = get it quick"

Pros and Cons

Pros:nice quiet town close to Abel Tasman NP
In a nutshell:ideal starting point for the north tip of the South Island
