Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and has the charm of modern city life besides some rather old Victorian buildings.

Stroll along the waterfront or the Civic Square or do some shopping in downtown Wellington (Lambton Quay). Lots of restaurants, pubs and cafés you will find on Courtenay Place.

Absolutely 'must see activities' are Te Papa (Museum of New Zealand) and the Botanic Gardens.
From the surrounding hills excellent views at the harbour and Cook Strait.
