"Paris? - not impressed..." a Paris Travel Page by desert_princess

Of course I was curious to experience Paris. Everyone is talking about it.....
When we arrived - it was raining....
Bus stopped at Elysee Montmartre to unload equipment and gear , and I , hearing that the famous Montmartre church was just around the corner,took my camera and went on discovery. There was a map opposite of the venue ,so after locating my position , I've figured that the church must be at my back. Turned left and took the climbing street with all the little shops full of ethno stuff and cheap souvenirs from Paris , sales and junk food stands. It was still raining when I arrived at the bottom of the "butte". There was an old fashioned carrousel on my right side that was adding melancholia to the rainy dawn. As I headed to the stairs ,was bothered by African french trying to sell me some necklaces. Get the hell out of me , damn!!!How could they be there even in the rain? As a matter of fact I was more afraid that I would get something stolen , so I did my best to keep them at distance and hurry up the stairs...
