A Glimpse Into My World

by hobie97224 - last update: Jan 31, 2007

In the begining

Portland river front
A little about me, I served in the military and got a taste of world travel, but never thought I would get the opportunities have have had once I took the job I currently have.
My job takes me to most parts of the world, and as a result I have had the opportunity to visit some very interesting places in my 20 years with the company. My travel was somewhat limited when i first started working, but in the past 6 years my travel has gone to almost 70% of the time I am traveling.
As a result I have added pages as i have time to catch up and get to the present.
Hope this is of interest to you as you read my travel around the world.

What might be around the corner

Where to start? That is a good question. Let me head out to the South and go to South America, Argentina to be exact. Why Argentina, well I had the opportunity to go for work, and as a result we had a weekend to kill when we were several hours south of Buenos Aries. We decided to go and take in an excursion off Valdez Peninsula and that trip changed my outlook on the whole topic of Whale Watching. I have never seen such magnificent creatures and we were so close.

More unique friends in Argentina

After a day of whale watching we headed 2 hours by car south of Trelew to a rookeries. Having never seen a penguin before it was very interesting to see these little creatures. They come to this spot every year to lay their eggs and hatch their young. As you can see you are able to get very close to the little creatures and see what they are all about.

What a lovely homepage. There is something so beautiful about whales and penguins and your photos show this well. Thank you.
