Sapa - La ville d'amour
Our train to Sapa leaves the Tran Quy Cap station in Hanoi at 2200 and reaching Lao Cai the next morning at around 7am.
19 May 2006 - Bought bus ticket for Sapa (VND25k) and headed straight to the Tulico van. On the way, we passed by terraced paddy fields on the slopes of the hills. The scenery was superb and the air was fresh.
Sapa is a premier destination of northwestern Vietnam. It is a French hill station built in 1922 and my LP said that the whole area is spectacular and frequently shrouded in mist. Guessed in summer, there was not much mist around or could I have slept in and missed the sight! Gosh!
Sapa is like a paradise to me, just what I wanted to see. It is also an ideal honeymoon place in Vietnam, which I later found out. Lots of hotel to choose from and lots of things to see, buy and "eat". Really romantic with french style-design buildings. Fascinated over everything and anything. So many activities in this lovely town - eg Cat Cat Trek, Mt Fansipan etc.
20 May 2006 - The saddest thing was that I have to leave for Hanoi on their "Love Market" night!
