My husband and I stayed at the Ritz earlier this Spring and were greeted by a very welcoming staff. We booked our reservations on travelocity and the front desk staff quickly retrieved the reservation and we were on our way to our room guided by a bellhop. We arrived late and were hungry. A very kind staaff member quickly ordered us some fresh fruit, cheese and fresh baked bread. He placed the call to the kitchen himself from our room and within a few minutes a beautiful tray was delivered. My husband even had a selection of teas to choose from. The artwork and decor are very warm. The carpets were clean and the entire hotel felt secure. Our room was lovely and had a king size bed and other nice furnishings. The bathroom was my least favorite part of the room. It was rather small but clean. There was a hockey game in town the weekend we were there and we encountered the Boston Bruins in the hotel lobby. Too bad we couldn't grab some complimentary tickets. I just didn't think quick enough.

We stayed at the Maritime in the summer of 2003. It is a very small hotel with very small rooms. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfy. If you like room service don't pick the Meritime. My husband and I attempted on several occasions to order room service but each time we were told that the kitchen was closed. The Kitchen seemed to always be closed regardless of the time of day. There is a nice Indian Restaurant next door and you are within walking distance of many shops.

Our stay at the Loews Vogue was in December of 2004. We picked a very snowy weekend to stay in the city and were greeted at the curb by a doorman all bundled up in a red and green wool coat and hat. He looked right out of an oldtime holiday picture. Our room was beautiful. When we arrived soft music was playing on a bedside CD player and the bed was already turned down. The bathroom was extraordinary!! Marble everywhere and a super deep jacuzzi tub. There was a telephone in the bathroom as well as a small color television. Needless to say we spent some of the chilly nights lounging in the hot tub watching tv. The rooms were big and we had a great view of the city. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. One of my favorite Montreal hotels.

This is by far the most wonderful hotel in Montreal!! The rooms are large and the service is beyond compare. My husband and I arrived to our room and were so dazzled by the decor we quickly grabbed a camera to capture it for those at home. This is a contemporary hotel. The king size bed was covered in a Canadian down filled duvet. An abundance of pillows adorned the bed. The bathroom is a work of art. Multiple shower heads are positioned in the glass enclosed shower. Wonderful bath soaps, shampoos and lotions were readily available. The only drawback in the bathroom is that there is not enough counter/shelf space but the designer fixtures and sink make up for anything that could possibly be missing. There is high speed internet access available for $15 can and room service is on the expensive side as well. The croissants are to die for so don't miss ordering the continental breakfast. We asked for a room with a view and were given an incredible corner room. The hotel is nicely placed on Sherbrooke and is close to the metro station and all local attractions.
Unique Qualities: Things we especially loved - The flower arrangements are all extraordinary. A tiny egg shaped vase contained a submerged orchid. This was placed on the room service tray. Bedside reading lamps were great but they did get rather hot to the touch after a bit. The morning Shooter (a banana, orange, pineapple and mango concotion) yummy! The bath towels were enormous. Room make-up and turn down were speedy. I would leave the room for a few minutes and return to find everything freshing made.

Due to a delayed flight we did not arrive at the hotel until 1:30 AM. We were pleased to find out that this was not a problem at all and our room was being held until 3:00 AM. Valet service was still available in the early morning. Our room was an executive suite with a king size bed and a nice terrace. It practically had three separate rooms in a relatively small space. 1) office with a desk and chair and FREE high speed internet access. A mini food service area with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink was included. It only had coffee mugs and glasses but I'm sure the hotel service would provide plates and silverware if needed. 2) The next room was a sitting room with a reclining chair, sofa, coffee table and television. A door off of this room led to a large terrace with a small table and chair set. The view was not wonderful but it did allow a nice treat to sit outdoors. 3) The sleeping area contained a HARD king-sized bed, a small closet with an iron. There were two telephones in the suite and two televisions. Our stay was after the Daylight Savings time change and the clock in the room was never adjusted. Since we arrived so late we did not realize it until my husband got up to go to work and he arrived an hour ahead of schedule. The bathroom was rather large and had a tub and shower.
Unique Qualities: Overall my impression of the hotel is a good one. There is a FREE continental breakfast each morning. Somethings to improve upon would have to be the mattress and the bleach smelling towels. Even for two people there was not enough drawer space. I loved how easy it was to connect the high speed internet and the conceirge was very helpful and friendly.

It was quite a challenge to find the Hotel Xixe Siecle since it's hidden among the tall buildings of downtown Montreal.

What a wonderful hotel located in a wonderful part of downtown. It is sure to please even the most picky traveler. L'Hotel de la Montagne has many ammenities that make it unique. Spend the day lounging at the roof top pool or take in a brunch or dinner at the rooftop piano bar terrace.
