"Surprising Milan" Milan by chess_machine

First things I heard about Milan is "it is an ugly city, Rome is much better". Well, what was forgotten there is that if you compare any city with Rome chances are it will be more "ugly".

Nevermind, I had a few friends in Milan and was curious so I decided to visit the city anyway.

I had aldready been to Rome so I was ready to expect the ugly...

As you can imagine, Milan surprised me. OK it is not as amazing as Rome, Florence or Venice. OK it is not what you expect from Italy: charming piazze, sunshine most of the time... Well, for the women, I must say they are extremely beautiful in Milan. And lets face it, Milan is not what you should visit if you were to visit one city in Italy.

Still, it is MUCH more beautiful that you migh expect (Duomo is one of the most incredible monument I have seen, Galeria Vittorio Emanuelle rocks, and Breda is a charming quarter). Lots of animation and you feel you live in a very different Italy than that of the south.

To me, visiting Milan once made me want to visit it more. I feel this city has electric vibes and is more the centre of Italy than Rome. If I were to live in Italy, I would choose to live in Milan and visit Rome often.
