"Nothing special to see except the castle " a Ancenis Travel Page by chess_machine

I am writing from the Bar de la Poste in Ancenis and have a few hours to wait there in the city. Though I have lived most of my life in Nantes, just 45km from Ancenis, I had never been to Ancenis before. I decided to go there today to take some pictures and went to Ancenis by train. Thing is there are few trains from Nantes to Ancenis at this time of the day so I have to stay here for 4 hours. And in 2 hours I have already seen all interesting things in Ancenis, which means: the castle, the Loire raves and some old streets of the city center. My impression of Ancenis is that of a city not very special, that does not present specific touristic interest except for castle fanatics. Indeed the castle is interesting and old (first part of the castle were built in the 16th century).

For information, Ancenis is located 45km from Nantes and 58km from Angers and has a population of 7000 people.
