| the castle with a serious sky |
Tourism Office says "un parfum d'Italie", and I had heard previously Clisson looked like an Italian village. Went there with some ideas, though not many actually, about what to expect but was really surprised. It does have an Italian taste, though it is located in the North West of France.
Spent only two hours there and the weather was crap. Strong rain only 45minutes after I arrived there. Anyway, it is my fault since I went there in February...
From what I saw, Clisson is a very lovely place and it must be much better in spring or summer. The castle is amazing, the streets are charming, and Clisson is located near the Muscadet vinyards, hence a good opportunity to taste local wines and food.
For the cultural part, if it looks a little bit Italian, it is because some archiects from 18th (if I remember well, maybe 19th century) were in love with Italian architecture and decided to build Italian inspired buildings in Clisson. |
