Favela Chic: Brazilian club and restaurant

Nightlife Spot: Favela Chic
Well, how to define Favela Chic? It is a restaurant, a bar and a nightclub, where there are gigs sometimes. So, lots of different faces of the nightlife in one single place. Since the homogeneity of this place sets on its Brazilian atmosphere. Its name "Favela chic" refers to a paradox: the poor "favela" and the "chic" of the place. Although I find this name not so appropriate, poor provocation to me, the Favela Chic is a great place to go out at night. Excellent place to sip a margarita, a cachaca or a mojito, before dancing like crazy on Brazilian vibes and if lucky with the extremely beautiful people you can find there. Only have been once there and it was in mid-August, so there were not too many people. I have heard that the place is super packed on weekends and that the bouncers may refuse that you go inside. One shadow though: prices are expensive.

Nightlife Spot: Le Charbon
One of the café I have been to very often. Le Charbon is a very well known place of the Oberkampf quarter. It is a quite big café that gets very loaded during the weekend. There you will meet lots of arty people. The music is cool and the prices are less expensive than in most locations in Paris.

Nightlife Spot: Point Ephemere
Point Ephemere is really well situated, for it is along le Canal Saint Martin, a great water spot in North East Paris (10th district). The atmosphere is alternative, seems like you are in Berlin, with a kind of warehouse decoration, where DJ play sets every weekend. There is also a restaurant on the quay of Canal Saint Martin. It is a really cool place to go during the beautiful days. You can go outside and see the Canal Saint Martin, then come back to the club and enjoy the good music (which actually is not always good, depending of the DJ!). It is particularly a good place to discover a nightlife spot with few tourists. A part of the Parisian Paris, in a way ;)
