When we go to Scotland we always end up in Annan. Annan is a relatively small town (pop. 10,000) on the Borders between England and Scotland.
We go there because our good friends and breeders of one of our dogs lives there. Personally, I have been there four times, Joanne three times.
It is an intriguing place. Set astride The Borders it has it's own history of violence and bloodshed. But it also has a cultural side being the home of Thomas Carlise and oft time visits from Robert Burns.
At present it seems to be struggling for survival but does claim a fish facotory, a pharmaceutaical plant and an atomic enery plant that is being mothballed at the present time.
We love this little town. And I must apologize to my hostess for once describing it as a village. For that I was severely rebuked.
In this picture you see Joanne and Shelagh walking Bria and Tiegan beside the River Annan just above the bridge that leads into Annan.
