Here we are again on the Mad Max Tour with second cute little village. This one again dates back to the 13th century. And I think it is the most authentic I've seen. Thatched roofs, narrow streets, hidden street signs, parking away from the village. Efforts have been made to keep it authentic looking. We had about 45 minutes to stroll around. The most impressive sights were the stream and the Roman bridge across it and the local Minster with it's ancient graveyard. Apparently, one of the houses was used for the original Dr. Doolittle movie, but which one was never pointed out. There is also a resort of some sort back in the woods but entrance was restricted. |  | A Typical Dwelling in Castle Combe It's a rather small area and if you hurry you can see everything in a few minutes. But, that is not the object. Take time to sit, think, imagine, make believe, even pretend you are Dr. Dolittle. It is worth it. |
