On the Rocks

Sydney Harbour has to be one of the Natural Wonders of the World. I can't imagine how those first "pioneers" who came ashore here could ever have speculated it would become such a wonderful place.
I was staying east of Sydney. My first foray into the city was when my hostess took me to the Natural History Museum located just to the east of the Opera House. That is a must see.
On my next visit I came in on the water taxi from Parrametta. Each boat is named after a famous Aussie athelete. On that trip I visited the Opera House and enjoyed the tour very much.
On my third visit I came by train and that was to do the Bridgeclimb.
The 4th visit was also by train and it was to go to the Easter Show at the now Olympic Venue, which was almost completed at that time. What a thrill it was to watch the Olympics that fall and know I had walked that same ground!!
Sydney Harbour is just a wonderful sight. I loved watching the many, many ferries constantly landing and shuttling off. Such a busy place!! I just wished I had more time to spend there.

ehmmmm most countries around the world have the same meaning of the word fanny. DOn't worry you won't offend anyone but it is very very funny to hear American / Canadian people talking about their fanny pack

Mart, I actually LOL at the "fannypack" story. Your description of your bridge climb was just fabulous, and, I agree that you are a brave soul, indeed!

You're a brave soul, Mart. No way was I going to spend money to climb waaaay up there!!! And from Circular Quay... when you look up, people on the bridge get smaller and smaller!!!!

Heh, the "utility belt" confusion happened to me as well when I was in England. Embarassing!
