"Southern Zealand and Moen" Vordingborg by allou

Well, this is the area I live, work and relax in when I am not travelling.
Most tourists to Denmark never come here, as they go to Copenhagen and think that is all there is to Denmark - wrong!
The best way to get here would be to drive or bike.
It is about 100 kilometres south of Copenhagen.
The countryside is nice, flat or undulating low hills - ideal bikeriding country. And there are lots of specially marked bike paths , any local tourist office will give out free maps and almost everyone speaks good English and lots speak German too.
Every second year, next time in 2005, there is a fantastic international theatre festival called "Waves" in Vordingborg. Theatre entusiasts come from all over Europe ,and also further, to enjoy the week long event, which is at the end of August. It is not traditional theatre, very select and innovative performances from all over the world-in a small town (approx.16,000) in the Danish countryside!
