Netherlands' European City

Maastricht felt very different from all of the other places we visited. It was like a mixture of French, Belgian, German and Dutch cultures. This must be why they chose Maastricht to sign the Treaty of the European Union here. We enjoyed our afternoon shopping and eating and visiting the beautiful old churches. Definitely a must if we get to return to Netherlands.

You will get a great view from the top, but be warned, it is a treacherous climb with very little room for missteps! more travel advice
