I only had one night and one day in Sydney, and here is what I did:
Night:
Dinner
at Indonesian restaurant on Anzac Parade (highly recommended)
Morning:
Monorail
just to get a feel for the city, rip-off.
Sky Tower and Show
Wow, great views, a bit rip-off, but worth it.
Early afternoon:
Ferry to Manly Beach
Fish and chips on the beach while chasing the seagulls aways
Beach stroll
Crawled through the Wormholde
Late afternoon:
Sydney Opera House
Nice photo opportunity

Interesting pages Knerten. your so right about the mono-rail...total rip off, most sydnesiders call it the monster rail as its useless, expensive and goes nowhere, we want/need functional light rail system.
