You walk through Garmisch and pass one beautiful building after another. The outstanding characteristic of this building was its lack of decoration. Most of the buildings are beautifully painted, often with religious or hunting scenes. This church was so plain it was beautiful set off by the spring flowers.
We passed it on the way to the Richard Strauss Institute which is definitely worth a visit if you like the music of Strauss. |
|  | You can't choose one building. They are all so beautiful. Everyplace is clean, tidy and looks newly painted . . . all over Bavaria.
The paintings on the buildings are amazing. It is fun just to wander through town and look at all of them. |
| The Rathaus (home of city fathers, not rats) |
| | All the towns in Bavaria have a Rathaus and they all seem to be beautifully painted. This one was a bit more plain than some but, nevertheless, lovely.
It's fun just to walk and look . . . and the lilacs were blooming so it was nice to smell too. |
