Restaurant Name: La Colomb'Auge Creperie

I'm not sure the category "Local" is entirely appropriate. The Colomb'Auge is a creperie. In all honesty we did not eat there. It was cute so I took a photo of it.

The entire town of Beuvron-en-Auge was very picturesque and I took several auberge, restaurant, creperie photos. It wasn't lunch time so we didn't eat there. We went on into Houlgate for our lunch.

It seemed appropriate to put the photos of Beuvron restaurants here to let people know that there is a variety of eating establishments in the small village that is one of the Plus Beaux Villages of France.

Favorite Dish: Obviously, crepes are the specialty . . . 8^)

Directions: Nearly everything is on the main market square. It's a tiny town!

Restaurant Name: Restaurant Le Pave d'Auge

For you steak lovers, here is the Pave d'Auge. We quickly discovered a "pave" or paving stone is really a steak in France. Oddly, we didn't have one for years. Our oldest daughter made good use of the knowledge when she was with us once.

Finally one year, we were lost in Brittany and the 2:00 witching hour when all restaurants close until 7:00 PM was fast approaching. I spotted a restaurant along the road that had a full parking lot (always a good sign) so we made a U-turn, parked and entered. We asked if it was too late for lunch and the kindly lady who ran the restaurant said we could eat if we didn't mind a steak. There was a tiny man grilling steaks at the fireplace. We cheerfully said we'd be delighted, were seated and served an excellent paving stone.

Favorite Dish: This is a steakhouse so I assume the specialty is steak. (We did not eat here as it was not meal time.)

Directions: This is a very small village and most shops and restaurants are on the main market square.

Restaurant Name: Cafe du Coiffeur - F. Vincent

This is a cafe / bar and probably the least elegant place in Beuvron for a meal. It is probably the least expensive too. It can be found on the main market square along with all the other shops and restaurants.

If you walk around the corner to the right (facing the restaurant), you come to the little canal that winds around the town. You can follow the path back along the canal and it is lovely.

If you are looking for an inexpensive lunch, this might suit the purpose although the creperie mentioned above might be less expensive.

Favorite Dish: Again, I'll mention we did not eat at any of these restaurants. It wasn't lunch time so we waited until later to eat.
