Wieskirche is incredibly beautiful

If you are lucky, there will be a visiting choir to sing for you. Here's my journal entry for our visit to Wieskirche.

"as we toured the church, a male choir walked in and set up in the front of the church. We were treated to two lovely Austrian hymns in the lovely old church and then they, and we, left. We heard a real cuckoo bird in the parking lot as we left."

We thought we'd escape the tourist invasion by going late and there were only two tour buses in the parking lot, but it was still pretty crowded. Nothing could take away from the awesome beauty though.

Don't forget your camera!

The inside of Wieskirche is so beautiful that you really don't know where to start taking pictures. When you add the wonderful mens' chorus to the sublime church, it was an unforgettable experience.

Look outside too.

The interior of the church was spectacular but outside nature was also splendid. There are walking paths in the lovely rural location.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Amazing beauty both inside and out
Cons:Not too peaceful because of the crowds
In a nutshell:Hope for a visiting choir . . . and enjoy.

Always explore the area around the tourist site. It is usually equally interesting. Around Wieskirche are meadows and... more travel advice

Thank you Sally for your tour :-) I might visit this part of Bavarian early October. Good to see photos of the surroundings, because there is a nice pension near the church for unbelievable 25 Euro per night incl. breakfast.
