"Cute town; great lunch " a Néant-sur-Yvel Travel Page by Beausoleil

We were visiting the Forest of Brociliande (Paimpont) and managed to get lost at lunch time. Every town we drove through either had no restaurant or it was closed. Finally when we took a wrong turn, we decided to just keep on as our luck couldn't get much worse.

Then we drove into Neant sur Yvel and our luck changed dramatically. There were a couple restaurants, all looking quite nice. As chance would have it, we found a parking space in front of Aux Ajoncs d’Or Restaurant, looked at the menu and decided to enter.

Great decision! Here is my journal entry for the meal.

"Started with a salmon gratin in a wonderful sauce. For our main course, we had chicken and apples in a crust with the best chicken gravy I’ve ever had. This was accompanied by roast potato wedges and a gratin of cauliflower in cheese sauce. It was all heavenly and the bouncy young waitress seemed overjoyed to be serving us . . . and all the other customers. We had a wonderful little round gateau with a chocolate center accompanied by rum raisin ice cream and peach slices in an exquisite vanilla sauce. Great lunch."

The room was full of local business men and workers. They had a long leisurely lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it and so did we. We should get lost more often!

This was across the street from our restaurant and it also looked very nice.

The church is right beside our restaurant. There is, as a result, plenty of parking nearby.
