Art, fun and great views! and other Nice, France Things to Do Tips

Take time to visit the Museum of Modern Art in Nice. The building itself is interesting. Some of the exhibits are interactive and those are always fun, especially if you have children with you.

There are gardens outside with sculptures that were displayed in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris in autumn 2003. There are other sculptures and the administrative building/biblioteque is a combination building and sculpture. It's a giant neck and chin topped by a square concrete block. Was someone trying to call administrators blockheads?! Hope not.

Not to be missed is the rooftop garden. You are absolutely on top of Nice and the views are magnificent. There are little bridges from one section to another and all offer grand vistas. We were there on a very windy October day and it's a challenge in a high wind . . . but lots of fun.

If you visit the Nice Museum of Modern Art, take the time to visit the roof garden. Gardens do not need to be at ground level to be interesting. The roof garden not only is a lovely garden, it has fabulous views in every direction. On a clear day you can see the surrounding mountains, the lovely bay and all of Nice spread out below you.

On a windy day . . . hold on to your hat!!
