The Forest of Broceliande is full of magic. We spent a day wandering the Forest of Broceliande (Forest of Paimpont) and found hidden fountains (hidden by a tour bus), a mysterious chateau, old forges, a beautiful abbey and one of the best restaurants we've found anywhere.
I have my photo by Merlin's tomb too! If you have ever read King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, you must visit these places. You can feel the vibrations in the air. |
| | The Abbaye at Paimpont The abbey is right on the river and absolutely gorgeous. The tourist office is opposite so stop and pick up a detailed map of the forest or you will be lost for sure. You may even be lost with the map but it's a beautiful place to get lost. |
| Chateau du Comper and Arthurian Center |
| | Chateau du Comper This is where Vivian supposedly raised Sir Lancelot of King Arthur's Round Table. The lake is beautiful and inside the chateau is a center for the study of Arthurian Legend you may visit.
It's all a bit off the beaten track but a very peaceful place to explore. |
