We went in the summer (Aug) but it can rain at any time. One minute its blazing hot and then all of a sudden, there's a heavy downpour that can last a few minutes and then it will clear up... only for it to rain again. We went on one of those hop on hop off bus tours on a open-topped double decker. Most of the day it was a beautiful day. But late afternoon... the floodgates opened and it rained quite heavily for about two hours. This was quite funny because the bus was packed, but everyone was crammed in the bottom part to avoid the rain. Due to the nature of an open-topped double decker, the rain began to gather on the top level and everytime the bus braked or accelerated the water would come pouring down the steps into the lower level. Naturally I was just a few feet away from the stairs so I got a bit wet...

Métro & Trains: Rush hour... the crowd...the smells...

Sardines jammed in a tin can. That's how I felt when we were on the metron during rush hour. You literally are pressed up against strangers on all sides and there's really not too many places to hold except a pole in the middle and so everyone's arms are raised which brings about the awful body odor smells that come about. At one point, i was literally hugging this woman who had pushed her way through and the only way for me to hold on to something was for me to reach around her and grab the pole. I remember her turning around and giving me this strange look when I did, but I guess she understood that I needed to hold on to something to prevent myself from falling because she didn't say a word. It had to be one of the most unpleasant 20 mins of my life.

There's some pretty aggresive vendors probably trying to scam you out of some Euros. They usually hang around tourist areas and they come up right to your face. Just say "no" or "non" and walk by. And in the summer... they smell... bad...
