Sunset in Beau Vallon - Seychelles

Sunset in Beau Vallon

Sunsets are magical

Take the time to sit and watch the sun go down... Sunsets are so beautiful in the Seychelles, it would be too bad to miss it ;-) Find a nice spot to wait for the sun to set and enjoy !

Pepper - Seychelles

Pepper

Fruits and spices

We all use pepper, nutmegs and other spices... but we never see it growing. I really liked to see the plants and trees bearing those spices or exotic fruits we find in our supermarkets. Mango, corossol, papaya, guava, etc... It's funny to see how they grow "in real" :-)
I don't know for Praslin and La Digue, but on Mahé, there is a spice garden called Jardin du Roi, where you can get informations about those exotic fruits and spices.

Majestic palm trees - Seychelles

Majestic palm trees

Palm trees

I've always loved exotic trees and flowers, and since I was a child, I've always dreamt of going to those places where palm trees grow ;-) Well, in Mahé they are everywhere, I wasn't disappointed ;-)
But if you have the opportunity to go to a botanical garden while you are in the Seychelles, do it, it is really worth it ! You'll get explanations on all the trees and tropical plants and flowers that grow there. Very interesting !

Three Brothers - Seychelles

Three Brothers

And mountain ?

Yes, Mahé is a quite mountainous island and offers plenty of trekking possibilities !
The Morne Seychellois can be seen from almost everywhere on the island and contrasts so well with the beautiful white colour of the sand of the beaches.
This is a picture of the "Three Brothers Mountain" taken in Victoria.

Dogs at Anse Soleil - Seychelles

Dogs at Anse Soleil

Beaches of course !

Anse Soleil is one of the beaches of Mahé that I liked the most. Although I lost my snorkeling shoe there :-)
If you click the picture, you'll see that we're not the only ones to love paradisiac beaches... dogs too like to play in the waves when the sand is too hot to stay on :-)
Many beaches are great on Mahé, some small, some bigger, with big waves or calm turquoise water... you'll certainly find the one that suits you best :-)

Directions: South-West side of Mahé

Pierre Poivre - Seychelles

Pierre Poivre

Visit Mahé

Don't miss Mahé, please ! The largest island of the Seychelles is home to the capital, Victoria, and really deserves a visit :-) Eight days weren't enough to me to discover everything it has to offer...
See my Mahé page for more details !
The picture represents a sculpture of Pierre Poivre, the man who first introduced spices in the Seychelles.
