A real paradise indeed... but how long is it gonna be there for us to enjoy ? Oh, I know it’s a topic in the air for the moment… and you might be bored to hear about climate changes all day long. But it is unfortunately the truth and I’m very concerned about it. If we go on like that, many paradises like this one might disappear within a few decades. If the ice cap keeps on melting, many corallin atolls will be under water, as well as a good part of India, to name only a few of the countries concerned. Biodiversity will be dramatically affected. Many animal species will soon be history. But it's not too late, we still can do something ! Each one of us, at our own level, can reduce this impact with very easy little actions. Change your habits ! Switch off the lights and electrical supplies when you leave a room for exemple. Bike or walk whenever it is possible and use your car for longer distances only… its good for your planet and its good for your health ! Use cleaning products that respect the environment, reduce your heating consumption by insulating your home better. Recycle paper, avoid plastic wrappings, etc... I’m sure you will find your ways to help ! YOUR behaviour can make the difference ! |
Now that I said all this, I guess I can introduce myself :-) I live in Lillois Witterzée, in the Belgian province of Brabant Wallon, right in the middle of Belgium. I’ve spent most of my life there, apart from a few years in Brussels and one year in the nice little town of Mons with my boyfriend. A period that I really enjoyed very much ! But a part of my heart remains in the Ardennes, where the biggest part of my family lives. I love travelling and meeting people, discovering their culture and sharing their life experience. This is the best way to enrich oneself I think, and as a language reflects a good part of a country’s culture, I love to learn languages and speak with people in their mothertongue. I’ve always been amazed by the richness of a language and all that you can learn from it ! |
Two friends of mine, Bridget and Sarah (VT members bigjones and ptitetoile), made me read their pages and they did such a good job, that it really made me want to share my travel experiences myself. So, I’ll do my best
| What's your favorite childhood hero ? |
Why Muya ? Well, I had to choose a nickname... and after this party on the theme "the heros of your childhood", where I dressed up like Maya the Bee, some of my friends started to call me like that, so... I thought it was cute ;-) By the way, VT member titanik was also present at this party (with the red dress). |
I'm fond of animals and would have a lot if I wasn’t so keen on travelling… Oh well, we’ll see later for sheep, goats, rabbits and ducks, I have a male cat called Cuzco and that’s enough for now ;-) He’s a bit spoiled…I must admit, but oooooh so cute !! Don’t you think ?
I had not planned to have another cat at all, actually... But a friend of mine asked me if I wanted a little kitten, because she could'nt keep it and really didn't know what to do with it. I was not so sure, but then I saw the little thing staring at me, and I gave up :-) No use resisting when Lotus has decided something ... and she reeeeeally wanted to come home with me :-) But look at her! Could YOU resist ? :-) |
Travels in 2004 and 2005 2004 was mainly "an island year". We visited Mahé in june, an island of the wonderful Seychelles. And in october we flew to Tenerife to visit family. We also paid a short visit to friends in Salon-de-Provence. Where did we go in 2005? Well, we first made a thrilling trip to Egypt in May... I'm still working on my pages so if you are interested, please be patient :-) I'm still waiting for some picture to complete my tips... Then a week-end in Picardy and Normandy in August : mainly Le Crotoy, Saint Valéry and HonfleurA few - but great - days in Brittany in September And to end 2005 in the most perfect way possible, we spend a short week in Yucatan. | | | Taking pictures in Tenerife |

| Girls in Luxeuil-les-Bains |
2006 started with... A relaxing week-end with friends in Luxeuil-les-Bains, France, in June. Then I went to Vienna, where I celebrated Mozart with my godmother for a week-end ! (pages still under construction) And then mid-July, we spent 3 amazing weeks across the west of the United States, visiting national parks in Califorinia, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Utah ! We came back with loads of images in mind and a lot of comments that I still have to share with you on VT... Coming soon ! |
