Coloane Island - Ilha de Coloane

Coloane lies to the south of the Macau peninsula, beyond the island of Taipa. It is reached from the mainland by three bridges to Taipa, and from Taipa via the 2.2km long dual-carriageway Causeway, built in 1969. Witht about 7.6 km2, this is an island of pine forests, eucalyptus groves, tropical vegetation and farming land. Coloane is well known for the beautiful beaches and is still a good option for small trekkings.
