On the afternoon of May 12th, an earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck the Sichuan Province of China. Disastrous in severity, this earthquake left even distant provinces like Beijing, Shanghai, Shanxi, Hebei, and many others feeling strong tremors. It effects about 80000 people die , Casualty numbers have risen steadily throughout the night, and an exact assessment of the damage is still being conducted. The greater China and the world community have turned their attention to the disaster relief efforts.
