"Albunuelas, Lecrin Valley, Granada, Spain" Albu˝uelas by ken_sumner

Albu˝uelas Travel Guide: 7 reviews and 7 photos

As the original foreign residents of Albu˝uelas we tried hard not to overexpose the village in the way of the Alpujarras but realized this idyll we had joined would not last long. Our project : to help retain and to record the customs, traditions, flora and fauna, while trying to give villagers some stake in the rapid developments occurring in the Lecrin Valley in Andalucia. Where we mention a service it is not a recommendation, merely an indication of where you can start gathering information from a Spanish source, therefore, more likely to be of lasting benefit to the indigenous population and future employment prospects for the villagers. Our free guide is intended for everyone who prefers our more natural rural way of life and unspoiled countryside, in contrast to the exploitation on the costas. For those of us who prefer sustainable ecological tourism which assists rural development by leaving the money generated in the communities of which we have had the privilege of visiting or settling down. For those with time to greet people, observe nature, wildflowers, birds, animals and wildlife found in the area, or with an interest in the formation and historical background of our village.
