RICHIE THE LARGE MAMMAL WITH FINS & FLIPPERS!

IN JANUARY 2008 A SPUR OF THE MOMENT DECISION LEAD TO US TAKING OUR INITIAL SCUBA CERTIFICATION TESTS IN A LOCAL SWIMMING POOL. AFTER THIS WE THOUGHT "LET'S GO SOMEWHERE COOL FOR OUR OPEN WATER TESTS AND CERTIFICATION". SO WE CHOSE ANTHONY'S KEY RESORT IN ROATAN HONDURAS.

THE RESORT, THE WEEK, THE EXPERIENCE, THE WEATHER, THE FRIENDS & EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT. IT WAS, HOWEVER, MORE THAN WE BARGAINED FOR AS FAR AS THE UNDERWATER PART WENT. JUMPING OFF A ROCKING BOAT INTO THE OCEAN IS JUST A LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM A POOL. PLUS IF YOU HAD PROBLEMS EQUALIZING YOUR EARS, AS I DID, IT ONLY ADDS TO THE VOICES IN YOUR HEAD SAYING "YOU'RE A FOOL YOUNG MAN AND YOU SHALL PERISH IN A SEA OF FISH POO".

THIS WAS WHAT MADE THE TRIP GREAT, THOUGH. WE HAD TO PUSH THROUGH MANY CONCERNS, LEARN WHAT TO DO AND THEN COME OUT THE OTHER SIDE WITH GREAT EXPERIENCES.

ABOVE IS ONE OF THE DOLPHINS WE WERE PERSONALLY INTRODUCED TO, BEFORE WE THEN TOOK THE BOAT OUT INTO THE OCEAN, WENT DOWN TO 60 FT AND MET RICHIE AGAIN, SWIMMING ALONG THE SANDY BOTTOM. I SAID "BOTTOM"!

The Idea Is To Amuse Oneself At Every Opportunity!

PART OF TRAVELING IS TO DISCOVER NEW AND INTERESTING THINGS. WELL EVEN ON A PLANE, WITH THE HELP OF A FEW BLOODY MARYS ONE CAN LEAD A LIFE OF DISCOVERY.

AND SO WAS BORN "CABBAGE PATCH OPPOSITE". CABBAGE PATCH KIDS (IF YOU REMEMBER) ALWAYS HAD THEIR FEATURES SO FAR APART THEY WERE IN ADJOINING ROOMS. "CABBAGE PATCH OPPOSITE" REQUIRES THE "ARTIST" TO PLACE THEIR FEATURES AS CLOSE TOGETHER AS POSSIBLE.

I'M SURE THAT YOU WILL FIND COUNTLESS HOURS OF AMUSEMENT MASTERING THIS DELICATE SKILL.

With Practice, You Too Could Become Good At This!

THE TRUE MEASURE OF SUCCESS IS FLICKING FROM ONE PHOTO TO THE NEXT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.

IT IS ONLY THEN THAT THE TRUE GENIUS OF "CABBAGE PATCH OPPOSITE" COMES TO LIGHT.

AT FIRST RIDICULED BUT FINALLY EMBRACED. THAT IS USUALLY THE COURSE OF TRULY GREAT IDEAS. THIS OBVIOUSLY BEING ONE OF THEM.

Pros and Cons

EXCELLENT tips! FANTASTIC commentary! Leave it to you to find the VIP section of the shark lounge. Your Isla de Roatan page deserves an 'A!' (but that pic of the skeeter-bitten man in the speedo just about made me upchuck my Cheerios...) Well done, man!

Cabbage Patch Opposite! It will soon become a worldwide trend in photography.
