Don't Have One Photo Of This Fun Place! So, the only reason I ended up here is because we were on our way from Philadelphia to St. Maarten, from where we would then travel to St. Barth's.
In true Philadelphia airport fashion our scheduled 8am flight did not leave until 5pm ( they realized that the plane was missing a wing ). So we had our first beer at 8:30am and by the time we arrived in San Juan were well aware that we would not be going anywhere further that night. So once we found out that of course Philadelphia had also lost our bags we resigned ourselves to the need to just drink our way through Old San Juan.
We met some great people, none of whom I remember by name and neither of us have any recollection of how we made it back to our hotel for our 3 hour sleep before heading back to the airport to spend our $40 in meal vouchers on hangover curing coffee and greasy airport sandwiches.
Nevertheless my hazy reflection on Old San Juan was a good one and I could think of many worse places in the world to be stranded with no luggage. |

Nice recollection of a trippy night! The beauty about updating VT is that many years from now (when you're off your rocker) you can read the pages and pics....raise up your bottle of kaopectate and say, "Damn, we were BADASS back then!" ;-) |
