I loved everything about Carvoeiro. My boyfriend and I went for a week, and it was so picturesque, quaint, friendly, and different. I fell in love with it, and I did not want to leave! The main beach in Carvoeiro is small, but well formed. The sea seemed to get a bit rough, but it was managable. There were sunbeds available at a charge (E15?) and well worth it. You're on HOLIDAY!!! Treat yourself, right?! This picture is of Carvalho beach, which you can take a taxi to. You need to climb down some stairs, but it is very private and beautiful. The sea was quite rough here, so I wouldn't recommend it for kids or non swimmers.

There were great restaraunts and pubs in Carvoeiro as well. It seems like it still retains some charm, although it is touristy- it's not too bad.
