Unapool not to be confused with Ullapool

I did want to place this page under Sutherland - there is a long list of places on VT with this name. Unfortunately not listed in the United Kingdom or indeed its home place of Scotland. The long list of place names could be a contributary factor of the 'Highland Clearances' in Scottish Gealic 'Fuaobuich nan Gaidheal' the expultion of the Gaels. This left this area and many other in the Highlands void of people replaced by sheep - but if you look at Canada or USA the Clan names continue but remain at home here.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:The hands of time have changed nothing around here
  • Cons:If you like nature there is nothing to dislike
  • In a nutshell:An Unspoilt Paradise with a wild feel

Joan, fabulous little page of this tiny little hamlet in Sutherland. I must admit that I haven't heard of this plce before, but of Ullapool. The landscape looks stunning.

Sometimes the out-of-the-way places are the best...loved the craggy views and staid old architecture....nice page, Joan!

Thanks for visiting Pylos. Now you have me pining for Scottish sea lochs and misty, midgy days!! Hopefully soon be back up there. This appeals a great deal.

I knew my patience in waiting for this page would be rewarded. Such a lovely spot! That's what I think it's the best of VT, learning about these small places. Thank you, Joan.
