Name of Shop: local supermarket
The little supermarket in Alte has a wealth of everyday essentials stacked on its many shelves. We popped in often during our stay mostly to buy snack and drinks for the boys. Steer clear of the plastic wine bottles filled with local wine - they are filled on the premises from huge barrels so you won't get quality only cheap wine!! One good buy we did discover here was Fonseca Porto it is a lot cheaper here in supermarkets than the Airport.
What To Buy: Any time I travel be it near or far I love to buy postcards. I can spend ages choosing & usually buy loads. One day I will work out what to do with them!! Oh and the porto especially the white is divine.
What To Pay: Just a few Euros for the postcards and a little more for the port
